The Story of the North Warkwickshire Line 1908-2008
A new 60 page A5 size book recording and illustrating 100 years of the Birmingham Moor St - Shirley - Henley in Arden - Stratford upon avon 'North Warwickshire Line'.

Books available mid-June with copies on sale at Moor St Station Sat 28th June and at Stratford upon Avon station Sunday 29 June.

North Warwickshire Line Centenary Celebrations
28th June – 2nd July 2008

To mark the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Tyseley – Shirley – Henley in Arden – Bearley Junction line to passenger services on 1st July 1908, the Shakespeare Line Promotion Group has arranged a number of events.

Shakespeare Line Promotion Group AGM Tuesday 3rd June 2008
Guest speaker Steve Banaghan, Managing Director of train operator London Midland, gave a very interesting talk about current developments and future plans for the Shakespeare Line and the London Midland franchise. Members, guests and rail supporters who attended the talk were well impressed with the very positive approach to railways in the West Midlands.

The new London Midland 'City' livery has been unveiled on a 170 unit.

A new branding featuring the bard's head is being fixed to Shakespeare Line station signs - first stations to show the new signs are Spring Road, Hall Green, Yardley Wood & Shirley

1st July 2007 - New 'No Smoking' Restrictions

Rail travellers are reminded that as from 1st July 2007 UK government legislation comes into effect prohibiting smoking in public places. AREAS DESIGNATED NO SMOKING include :
- Station premises including corridors, lifts, toilets, waiting rooms, reception areas, waiting rooms and shelters etc; railway offices
- On trains
- Platforms and footbridges – covered, uncovered and partially covered
- Subways

Signs similar to the one illustrated here are being posted on Shakespeare Line Stations

No smoking at stations and on platforms

New Web Feature - "Beyond The Stations"

Originally displaying images of the area surrounding certain individual stations, this features is being developed into a more comprehensive facility for visitors to an area to discover what can be found around the stations. In addition to the views & maps of the area, it will be progressivley developed to provide links to attractions and perhaps even suggested countryside walks.

PlusBus Scheme Tickets - Available from Stratford Station

For a small 'add-on' to your normal ticket fare, passengers may opt for PlusBus. This is available for tickets to all participating station i.e. Shakespeareline Stations from Wythall to Birmingham Moor Street, Birmingham Snow Hill and Jewellery Quarter also for through tickets to Birmingham International.

Passengers with a PlusBus ticket are entitled to unlimited daytime & evening travel on TravelWM buses and the Midland Metro from their destination station.
